We tend to overcomplicate things sometimes.

We wonder over decisions to be made that should be made at the click of a button.

We convince ourselves the decision doesn’t need to be made for a week or so when it could just as easily be made right now.

We ask friends and family what they think about a particular choice, even though they have no experience whatsoever in the area (despite often acting as the expert regardless… everyone’s brother in law is also an expert in the movement of the stock market right?)

Without aiming to sound arrogant or egotistical – although I’ve said it now so you’re thinking whether I like it or not, kind of shot myself in the foot there – I’m often asked at the age of 24 how I have created the business growth and following that supports the Tonal Persuasion Method for Sales so ‘easily and effortlessly’.

It’s a fair question – and although it certainly hasn’t been ‘easy and effortless’ there has been one key component that has been critical in the results achieved so far:

I’ve invested in my education more than most Australians will have in their entire lifetime.

And that’s not even including a 4-year university degree (still searching around for the ROI on that one.)

What it is including however, is education with people that have the results I truly want. It’s investing in programs, resources and experiences that are going to have a direct, practical impact on the success of the business.

Being able to quickly make decisions around education is the most essential key to creating success in any area of one’s life.

Achieving goals is business and sales doesn’t need to be near as hard as we make it out to be. In fact a lot of the time we make it hard for ourselves in order to self-sabotage the success we are too scared to actually achieve.

The strategy is really quite simple and if you’re thinking it needs to be any more complicated than this, then go back to the top of this article and start again.

The steps in proceeding order are as follows:

  1. Ask yourself: What results do I want to achieve?
  2. Ask yourself: What knowledge do I need in order to achieve that?
  3. Ask yourself: How can I learn that knowledge so I can own it myself?
  4. Ask yourself: Is the investment going to pay itself back if I implement it in my own business?
  5. If the answer is yes, then say yes to investing in the knowledge.

How could it be any other way?

The only reason you wouldn’t move forward in saying yes is if you weren’t being honest with yourself in deciding what results it is you truly want in the first place.

Unfortunately, the steps can proceed in the following order for so many (give or take a couple of steps…)

  1. Think about what you might want.
  2. Ask your friends what they would think if you went for that idea.
  3. Think about what your friends said about your idea for a week or so.
  4. Research YouTube videos that go for no longer than 7 minutes that promise the magic pill for business or sales success.
  5. Flirt with the idea of what else you could spend your money and time on.
  6. Research an educational course that could give you the knowledge you might be after.
  7. Flirt with other ideas again.
  8. Think about it a little longer.
  9. Repeat steps 1-8.

If you want a given result, invest in yourself in a way that strengthens the path towards that exact result. Sitting around and wondering about any decision to make that you truly, deep down know the answer to is ludicrous if business success is a goal of yours.

Is making this decision going to take you closer to your business goal? Then make the damn decision.
